The Parent Practice webinar: Understanding boys and helping them thrive.
On Tuesday 17 January, we welcomed Elaine Halligan, Director of The Parent Practice and author of My Child’s Different, to speak to our parent community.
Elaine’s talk was a complete eye opener as to how simple everyday behaviours and reactions from parents can in fact raise boys self-esteem and by using a more positive language approach; relationships can be further strengthened. The four practical steps for boy smart communication: ask the right questions, teach emotional intelligence, resilience and fear of failure and descriptive praise proved valuable takeaways and worthy parental tools. Elaine’s positive attitude and ability to make the webinar enjoyable , interactive and thought provoking enabled our parents to gain a much better understanding of their son.
