St. Anthony’s Nursery at the Boys’ School opened in September 2023. St. Anthony’s Nursery is a co-ed with boys and girls enrolled between 2.5 and 4 years of age.
The curriculum offered at St. Anthony’s Nurseries draws upon the expertise of Early Years’ qualified teachers, as well as the school based specialist teachers. At NW3, we look to include French, music, drama, PE and art in the timetable.
The Nursery curriculum follows the statutory framework set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage which emphasises both adult and child-led activities. Particular focus is given to Communication and Language, Physical Development, and Emotional Development. The key focus will be building knowledge, skills, and confidence so that the children will be equipped to transfer (when the time comes) seamlessly to Reception.
Opportunities to share best practice and coordinate activities are scheduled through our St. Anthony’s Schools EYFS Hub, including the Learning in Nature program. Within this environment, we at St Anthony’s recognise and value parents as the first educators. Through working in partnership with our parents we can ensure that the girls and boys will thrive. We believe our youngest learners will learn to communicate confidently and engage with both their indoor learning space and enjoy all that St. Anthony’s Nursery has to offer.
