7+ (Year 3 entry)
There are a limited number of places available for boys wishing to join Year 3. Please contact the Registrar to arrange a tour of the school and to meet the Head and senior staff. Candidates who are registered will be invited to sit 30-minute assessments in Maths and English, engage in a group task (if possible) and to have a conversation with a senior teacher. Once parental permission is agreed St Anthony’s will approach your child’s current school for a reference.
The overriding principle in the selection criteria is the academic potential of each boy and a judgment as to how happy he will be at St Anthony’s. Once we are confident of a good fit then an offer will be forthcoming either for a confirmed place or the waitlist.
11+ (Year 7 entry)
Interest has increased in recent years from families seeking to enrol their child in Year 7. Most, but not all, children will join us from state primary schools with a view to completing two years before moving on to Independent London day or country boarding schools.
St Anthony’s prepares boys in Years 7 and 8 to sit Common Entrance exams and assists families in their applications to senior schools. Admission into Year 7 is based on boys reaching a satisfactory standard in English and Maths assessments as well as an interview. Please contact the Registrar to arrange a tour of the school and to meet the Head and senior staff.
As party of our strategy for Digital Literacy all boys in Years 6 – 8 are provided with an individual laptop for work in school and for prep. Alongside this, boys will be fully prepared to sit traditional written exam papers.
Boys will be asked to sit an age-appropriate assessment in English and Maths.
Please don’t hesitate to contact the school Registrar, Adriana Fritz who will answer any questions and arrange for a visit.
