On Wednesday afternoon, the school hosted a series of grandparents' tea parties, which went down well with all concerned. These were held in the Junior House Hall. Tea and coffee were served, along with soft drinks and a range of sweet and savoury snacks. It was gratifying to see grandparents take such a keen interest in the education of their grandchildren. Academic-in-Residence Richard McMillan stepped in to provide background music on the grand piano: attendees were treated to a programme of piano sonatas by Mozart and Beethoven. A number of grandparents attending observed that these had had a 'calming effect'! All in all, the event was a great success and is sure to be repeated.
