Verbal and Non-Verbal reasoning

NON-VERBAL REASONING

Non Verbal Reasoning skills are developed from Years 4 to 6 in the Senior House. Boys in Years 4 receive a taught 40 minute lesson every other week in order to develop their skills and understanding in this area and boys in year 5 use the online Keystones programme to this end which also tracks their progress and development. In the first term of year 6 boys finesse their skills in preparation for the ISEB Pre-Test. Boys in year 4 and 6 are provided with their own personal workbook which covers the range of skills and boys are taught specific strategies to enable them to make progress.

VERBAL REASONING

Verbal Reasoning skills are actively developed from Years 4 to 6 in the Senior House. Boys in Years 4 and 5 receive a taught 40 minute lesson per week in order to develop their skills and understanding in this area. In the first term of year 6 boys finesse their skills in preparation for the ISEB Pre-Test. A range of materials are used in order to support boys with their Verbal Reasoning skills, including: online activities delivered through the Keystones programme, which also tracks their progress and development. Boys also are provided with their own personal workbook which covers the range of skills and boys are taught specific strategies to enable them to make progress.
